Our future is exactly like tree branches
Morning,
Besides working on the drone project, I’ve been working on a mega-essay about everything on flying. I want to write this essay so I can learn and feed my curiosity. But really, I’m writing this essay to teach myself everything I want to know.
BUT there’s so much I’m curious about!!!!!!!! And quite honestly this may turn out to be a book and could be quite an interesting endeavor to learn and meet the leading engineers, entrepreneurs, historians, and interesting people. That plus visiting museums, learning to fly a plane and working on cool ideas like the drone project.
I’ve written about 4,000 words and I already have an infinite number of ideas I’d like to work on. For the first week or so I was curious about the history, and holy shit! The history is so interesting because you could see how different our present could have turned out but for some reason or at times the stubborn willingness of curious people will their way into whatever they thought was possible.
This is interesting because it’s like our present is exactly like tree roots. The roots are all the possible futures.
And sometimes our future is willed for better or worse. But most of the time due to an insane curiosity and work ethic, our future ends up going down one route (or tree root1). And that is good because that is present, and I’m grateful for it.
But what I’ve realized is that there are a TON of other roots that were not developed and where an infinite^infinity of opportunities await to be discovered and await for someone to work on them.
That’s the beauty of writing to learn rather than writing to write. I’m not writing to be a writer. I’m writing because I want to find things out and because of curiosity. And that my friends, is the most beautiful feeling you can ever experience.
So let’s git branch2 into another future. Right now, I’m interested in personal flying machines and drones so let’s create (or reopened) that branch git branch personal-flying-machine.
Life is exciting.
The other good thing about being obsessed with interesting topics is that you see more and you get more curious about things. I’ve told you I wanted to build this personal flying machine thing but after watching the first Top Gun, I became super curious about their planes too. It gave me a bunch of ideas about those planes which I wrote down and will explain from the engineering, history, and relevance.
And last Saturday night, I discovered the first-ever TOP GUN! Edward O'Hare! Yes, that’s where the O'Hare International Airport name comes from.

This is interesting because I realized roots and branches are the same thing and could be used for the same thing. Branches are probably better because they haven’t grown and you can grow them while roots already exist. Interesting thought. I wonder what that says about my psychology or even the whole universe.
If you don’t know what this means. It’s a way to literally create a whole new universe from a specific period when you’re programming starting from where you write git branch. From that point, you can change everything starting there and have alternate futures where different people work on things like new features parallelly, and then later once everything is done, they come together and merge. Hence, git merge.
