The Winners Among Gen Z, Why You Suck At Math, and an Ice Cream-Eating šæ
Hi,
On Friday, I finished a scientific poster along with a 10-minute presentation for my biophysics research. I canāt share it yet but Iāll show you next week.
Although, the research program āofficiallyā ended, Iāll continue working on the lab to finish the project, and maybe even publish it.
The last three months have been incredible challenging intellectually with lots of frustrations and impatience but finding out what I donāt know makes me want to continue learning.
I like the idea of being a scientist and an engineer š¤.
Curiosities š²ššæ
1. The Winners Among Gen Z & Millenials
Inspired by this tweet:
About three years ago, I decided to make my phone work for me (and not me for my phone) so I deleted social media apps, silenced all notifications, and itās always black and white.
Now, we can become capable of ANYTHING. The question is whether we have the MOTIVATION.
Also, I recently passed 100 subscribers on my channel. If you havenāt subscribed, consider doing so here.
2. Not Good At Math?
Watch this vulnerable video from a math professor who talks about her struggles learning math and the importance of getting stuck.
My biggest takeaway was the idea of ābeing good at getting stuckā and āliking something enough to be stuck.ā
Highly recommended!
3. Classroom Skills
āThey agree that chess training only improves chess skills but disagree that classroom training (almost) only improves classroom skills."
- Nassim Nicholas Taleb
āItās not that bad. Come on!ā Now, weāre improving our zoom skills. Thatās exciting, right?
4. Artificial Intelligence Show by Iron Man
I found this hidden gem on YouTube by the one and only, Tony Stark.
He has a brand new, YouTube original show about A.I. where they explore the leading technologies in the field.
The first episode is like a clip taken out of Iron Man.
5. 40 Under 40 Class of 2020 Virtual Celebration
I was recognized as one of the Latinos 40 Under 40 in the Chicago area.
If youād like to join me and celebrate. Hereās the link to join the event. Iāll see you this Thursday.
6. 146 Internships (BONUS š)
Not sure what to do this summer? Read this:
Do Things that Have Greater Outputs than Your Inputs
After you do, check out this list of 146 open internships.
Check out the list week HERE.
I hope you have a great week as a squirrel eating ice cream. You can tell this šæ is having a blast!
Until next week,
